This bowl features the Scholar on Bridge pattern, is circa 1750 and measures 7-1/2"(19cm) in diameter with a height of 3-1/4"(8.2cm). The base diameter is 3-1/2(9.2cm) and total weight is 532 grams. Visible under a jeweller's loup there is a very tiny hairline crack on the rim, as noted in the last photo above.
The Nanking Cargo was on board the Geldemalsen, a Dutch East India Trading Company cargo vessel that struck a reef and sank in Indonesia on 3 January 1752. The majority of the cargo was comprised of tea, but additionally there were ceramic pieces and gold ingots.
